Pablo Repun was born and raised in Buenos Aires- the city where the exciting and passionate dance of Argentine Tango first came alive.

During his extensive tango training in Buenos Aires, Pablo studied with the top professional “Masters” of Argentine Tango: Carlos Hidalgo, Celia Blanco, Ernesto Carmona, Gustavo Naveira, Esteban Moreno, Pepito Avellaneda, Natalia Games & Gabriel Angio, Fabian Salas, Mingo Pugliese & Roberto Herrera.

In addition to his training in tango, Pablo studied Graham Contemporary Dance and Parallelism Dance Technique at The National School of Dance in Buenos Aires.

A life dedicated to Tango

Pablo taught at CITA Congress 2015, the most important and prestigious Tango Congress in the world and the biggest in Buenos Aires. He also in 2015 performed and choreographed the tango for the Opera Tango Show “Maria de Buenos Aires” and “Opera Tango” at the Wang Center Opera Naples.

In 2014 Pablo created, produced and choreographed the show “Estaciones de Tango” for Arts Naples World Festival at the Sudgen theater in Naples with a sold out event and an standing ovation.

In 2013 Pablo created, produced and choreographed for Arts Naples World Festival an acclaimed Tango Show at the Botanical Gardens in Naples. Before moving to United States, for nine years, Pablo taught group classes, private lessons and workshops at local Milongas, cultural centers, universities and also at historical places like Café Tortoni and Café Homero Manzi in Buenos Aires. He also performed at numerous private events, public shows, hotel functions and corporate events.

Pablo has taught his ‘tango foundation’ to several students who have gained international recognition. Pablo enjoys teaching both private lessons and group classes to all levels from beginners to advanced students. He teaches all styles of Argentine tango: Tango Salon, Close Embrace, Open Embrace, Social Tango, Nuevo Tango and Performance Tango. He is known for his utmost concentration on the importance of posture, balance and technique for both Leaders and Followers. He has taken his knowledge & experience both as a teacher and performer worldwide to Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Germany, Italy and throughout the USA in New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Maryland, Iowa, Kentucky, No. Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Seattle, Hawaii and Alaska, where he received a special invitation from the Mayor of Juneau.

He has performed on TV numerous times in Brazil, Costa Rica and USA and traveled with Quintango quintet performing around the USA , appearing on the cover of their last CD, which won a Grammy in its field. In United States, Pablo has performed at milongas, private events, public shows, hotel functions, corporate events and universities such as: Miami Tango Fantasy Congress; The Tropigala Theater, Florida Grand Opera Miami fundraising event “A Toast to You”; Quintango & Ars Flores Symphonic Orchestra; La Playa Hotel in Naples; Motorola Corporation’s Hispanic Festival, The University Center for the Performing Arts; The Argentinean Embassy in Washington, D.C.; Black Rock Center for the Performing Arts in Maryland; Ames City Auditorium Town & Gown Chamber Music Association in Iowa; Madison Theater in Kentucky; Thalian Hall in North Carolina; Tango Master Class at the University of Salisbury in Maryland; Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts, Virginia; “The Heart of the Tango” Lucas Theater, Savannah, Georgia; “Tango with the Stars” Naples’ Opera First Cabaret Concert in Naples, Florida.

For four years, Pablo taught group classes at “The International Club of Argentine Tango” (CITA) and five years at South Florida’s most popular weekly milonga: “La Ideal” along with weekly classes in Aventura and Miami Dade Community College Kendall Campus. Pablo has been living in Florida since 2002.

At the moment Pablo lives in Naples, Florida, where he built a tango community and has a very active schedule teaching private and group lessons and organizing social tango events and shows. Including a weekly Milonga (Tango Social Dance) – in addition to traveling throughout the USA and abroad doing workshops and performances. In addition to teaching and performing, Pablo was one of the organizers of the “Miami Tangothon”, an Argentine Tango marathon for Florida dancers. He was the Publisher and Editor of “El Milonguero Tango Magazine”, the first Argentine tango magazine in Florida. Pablo & his wife Alicia personally introduce their students to the birthplace of Tango organizing exciting and fun-filled tours to Buenos Aires each year.
